The source of this great river is located close to Jinja at its outflow from Lake Victoria. This is the longest river in Africa stretching through Sudan, Egypt and finally to the Mediterranean Sea. Mabira Forest is one of the last remaining rain forests and biggest in Central Uganda, Located only 54km along the Kampala – Nairobi highway covers a total area of 306 sq km. It has an enormous biodiversity comprising 315 bird species, 312 tree species, 218 species of butterflies, 97 species of moths, 40 species of small mammals including the red - tailed monkeys, vervets, grey-cheeked mangabeys and many nocturnal animals.

Ngamba Island is part of the Koome group of islands located on Lake Victoria 23km south of Entebbe, Uganda. It consists of approximately 100 acres, 98 of which are forested and separated from the visitors area by an electric fence.
