The Uganda Association of Travel Agents (TUGATA), celebrated its first ever “Travel Night” on Saturday 27 February 2010, at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel.
At the previous AGM, members of the Association agreed to hold a “Travel Night” bringing all the Tourism stake-holders together to celebrate, recognize and thank the players in the industry for their contribution to the Travel Industry over the years.
Awards were given out in appreciation to the different agencies and airlines that contributed to the growth of the Travel Industry in Uganda. It is hoped that this will be an annual event when TUGATA shall bring together all persons involved in the aviation industry: from the travel consultant (who issues the air ticket), the various Airlines (who are meeting for the first time outside their monthly Board of Airlines Representative meetings), to the regulators of the Industry.
